Kefalonia Day 7. Thursday 25th May 2017.
Today is Mike and Jackie's 43rd wedding anniversary. we awoke to a mountain of cards slipped under our door. Oh, and the leaflet for Donkey Trekking!
We had our usual relaxed breakfast on the terrace looking out over that fantastic view. we spent the morning chilling in the sun.
We drive the fifteen minutes to Kamini Beach for a few hours. As we arrived it clouded over. No worries we retired to the Cantina on the beach for coffees. This was as is usual family run and we were masde to feel most welcome. The owners daughter who served us was getting married here on Saturday. What a beautiful setting. All was very well laid out. We return to villa for late lunch.
In the afternoon Callum earns euros for cannonballs into the pool. Crafty!
Tonight we are booked into the local tavern "Kelari" for 1930hrs for dinner. We are slightly adrift by five minutes. George is waiting at the entrance. I apologise. He says it is of no consequence for we are on holiday. I ask George if he will say to my daughter Tracey when she walks in "A submarine never waits on the surface". He does not quite understand and seems a bit embarrassed. Did he say it to her I wonder? He smiles graciously but does not really comprehend the joke. I don't think he did mention it when she walked in. We sit and chose drinks. A bouquet of flowers arrive, roses and greenery. All are delighted. None more so than Jackie. Tracey's doing not mine. as was the exquisite Gateaux she organised. The meal was without fault as all agreed. Mike had grilled anchovies and swordfish steak. Again!
We returned from dinner at 2230hrs You try walking uphill after two times three fingers of ouzo.
Drinks in our lounge. Tracey was the first to bed tonight. Youngsters!
