Kefalonia Day 5. Tuesday 23rd May 2017.

It was a reasonably early start today as we wanted to make the most of our boat hire. We had decided to take up Yannis offer, he was recommended by Mandy, as he seemed very accommodating and his fleet of seven craft where very new looking. We arrived a little before 0930 hrs at Katelios Beach. Yannis had a small office on the first bar The Florida, in a row of ten restaurants and eateries.

Whilst Paddy and Mike went for a quick "aquaint" on the boat,Tracey and I walked them all and all seemed great.

Katelios is a small fishing village, very small maybe more of a cove with a scattering of dwellings and small B+Bs scattered about. Might be nice to spend time and eat in a different restaurant each day. A small sandy/pebbly beach with a few shops for rations and snacks etc.

We had been recommended this Taverna by Jannis when we hired the boat. "Avoid Lourdata" he said "It's full of Tourists." We smiled.

We  boarded our 115 Horse Power motor boat. With all seven on board there was still room for more. It was heavenly. Skimming across the waves, visiting all sorts of hidden coves, accessible only by boat. Swimming and snorkelling, diving off the boat. Great fun. 1630hrs and it was soon time to head back to port and the marina. We knew from experience that the late afternoon winds would pick up and with that the waves. The last ten minutes run into the marina caught us with the wind, now rising off our port beam. That and the waves starting to form was splashing all over those of us sat that side.

Evening meal at villa cold meats etc. No one could face more food after our long leisurely lunch at Dennis's. If your passing on your yacht, moor up and try the Swordfish Steak. I did it was great.
